The American media, with its various and sometimes competing arms, is currently experiencing a unification of efforts to prepare for an expanded military conflict. Over the past few weeks, American war media has been focusing on two main points:
Demonizing Netanyahu: Every six hours, you’ll find a new article or news piece about how Netanyahu is dragging America into a regional war, as if Netanyahu and AIPAC, with their financial contributions, actually own America. As if America is ruled by bunch of clueless children who are waiting for Netanyahu to change their diapers and take their Billions then tricking them into war, making them drink camel urine so they don’t feel the burden of being complicit in gonicide.
Unprecedented investment in Israeli propaganda: There’s been a heavy focus on boosting the morale of the Western public and restoring confidence in the Israeli army, aiming to restore Israel’s image and instill fear. This intensified after the recent wave of assassinations. While the concept of targeted killings was pioneered by America years ago with the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, people still insist on believing that Israel—despite struggling to get its shit together—was the one behind the killings of Haniyeh, Nasrallah, and the bombing pagers. Almost daily, there’s a report in a well-known American paper filled with exaggerations and fantastical stories with no sources or evidence. For instance, less than 12 hours after the first wave of pagers bombing, a globally renowned American newspaper published a detailed report on how Mossad orchestrated the operation and rigged the site. This leaves two possibilities: either the journalist is secretly working with Mossad, writing up the report as they conducted the operation, or the moment the explosion happened, they received a fax from the CIA with the whole story, did some light editing, and published it as is.
I really hope people, especially fellow journalists, adopt a critical eye when reading or quoting American media outlets, particularly during these times. This is America’s war, and in America’s wars, major media outlets essentially become war propaganda machines, with a long history of spreading lies and deceiving even the American people themselves, pushing them towards death and war.
